Skip the Bureaucracy. Get Recognized.
You’ve got your university acceptance letter. The hard part is done — or so it seems. Now there’s a second, less talked-about requirement standing between you and starting your studies in the Czech Republic: getting your foreign high school diploma officially recognized through nostrifikace.
It’s a state-administered process, it runs through Prague City Hall (Magistrát), and it can feel like a maze if you’re tackling it for the first time, from abroad, in a language you don’t speak. That’s exactly the gap we close.
We handle the entire high school nostrification process for international students in Prague — start to finish, fixed price, no surprises.

Why Nostrification Matters (And Why It’s Worth Doing Right)
Nostrification is the official Czech process of comparing your foreign secondary education to the Czech secondary education system, to confirm the two are equivalent. Without it, many Czech universities won’t accept your enrollment, and certain visa pathways won’t move forward.
This isn’t a formality you can skip — but it is one you can completely hand off. That’s the difference we make.
What We Handle For You
Working under a power of attorney, our team takes over your entire nostrification administrative process. You stay informed and in control of decisions; we deal with the counters, the paperwork, and the back-and-forth with officials.
Specifically, we manage:
Evaluation of your academic history. We review your secondary school records and assess your readiness for the recognition process, including whether a nostrification exam is likely to be required.
Complete document portfolio preparation. We assemble, sort, and format your submission exactly as Prague City Hall requires it — eliminating the single biggest cause of delays and rejections in this process.
Direct filing with Prague City Hall (Magistrát). We submit your application and communicate directly with the relevant officials on your behalf, so you’re not stuck navigating Czech-language bureaucracy alone.
Exam coordination, if required. If the Magistrát determines that your secondary education differs from the Czech equivalent in subject content or number of teaching hours, a nostrification exam may be ordered to bridge the gap. If this applies to your case, we coordinate the exam booking and arrange a certified court interpreter for you.

What You Need to Provide
Getting started is simple. You just need to send us your foundational academic records from your home country:
- Your original or certified copy of your High School Graduation Certificate (or equivalent Secondary School Leaving Diploma)
- Your official high school transcripts — showing all completed subjects and the exact number of teaching hours over your final 3 to 4 years of secondary education
- A signed power of attorney authorising our team to represent you at the relevant government offices
That’s it. Once we have these, we take it from there.
Pricing: One Fixed Fee, No Hidden Surprises
We believe in transparent pricing for a process that’s already confusing enough. Here’s exactly what that covers:
Included in your 7,900 CZK fee:
- Our complete agency handling and file preparation service
- The mandatory government administrative submission fee (3,000 CZK, paid directly to Prague City Hall)
Not included — and here’s why:
- Official court translations. If your high school diploma and transcripts are already issued in Czech, you need nothing further — no translation fees apply. If they’re in any other language, Czech immigration law requires an official court translation, stamped by a registered Czech translator. We coordinate this for you based on your exact document count, priced separately depending on language and page volume.
- Change of Purpose of Stay. Switching your visa purpose at the Ministry of the Interior (OAMP) once your nostrification certificate is issued is a separate legal process. It can be added as an additional service package after your certificate comes through. [LINK: Change of Purpose of Stay service]
No bundled guesswork, no inflated “all-in” number that hides extra fees later. You know exactly what you’re paying for upfront, and exactly what comes next.
Why Work With Us Instead of Doing This Yourself
Nostrification is technically something you can attempt on your own. In practice, most international students find three things working against them: the process runs entirely in Czech, it requires in-person filing or representation by proxy (it cannot be completed online), and a single missing or incorrectly formatted document can add weeks or months to your timeline.
We remove all three obstacles. You get a team that already knows exactly what Prague City Hall expects, handles every interaction on your behalf, and keeps your file moving without you needing to take time off your studies or fly back to Prague for an appointment.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does the nostrification process take? Standard processing is up to 30 days, though more complex cases — particularly where a nostrification exam is required — can take up to 60 days. We keep you updated at every stage so you always know where your file stands.
Do I need to be in the Czech Republic to apply? No. The application can be submitted in person, through a representative under power of attorney (which is exactly how we work), or by mail. This is part of why our service is so valuable for students applying from abroad.
What happens if my education doesn’t fully match the Czech equivalent? If Prague City Hall finds that your subjects or total teaching hours differ from the Czech secondary education standard, they may order a nostrification exam to bridge the difference. We coordinate the exam booking and the required certified court interpreter as part of our exam coordination service.
My diploma isn’t in English or Czech — what do I do? You’ll need an official Czech translation completed by a registered court translator before submission. We arrange this for you, with pricing based on your specific documents and language.
Will this affect my university enrollment timeline? Most universities allow nostrification to be completed during your first semester rather than before enrollment, particularly if you’ve entered under a Visa Type Other arrangement.
Is nostrification the same for university diplomas as for high school diplomas? No. University-level recognition typically goes through the receiving Czech university directly, while secondary (high school) education recognition goes through the regional authority — in Prague, this is the Magistrát (City Hall). This page covers secondary education nostrification specifically.
