Required Documents for Marriage in Prague (for Foreigners)
Before your Matrika appointment, you will need:
- Passport(s)
- Birth certificate from your home country
- Any forms provided by Matrika (we help you complete these)
- Certificate of No Impediment to Marriage (not older than 6 months)
- For non-EU citizens: general confirmation of legal stay from the Foreign Police
- Marriage-specific confirmation of legal stay issued by the Foreign Police (Potvrzení o legálním pobytu k uzavření manželství), dated within 7 working days before your ceremony
- For divorced or widowed applicants: your divorce decree or death certificate
All documents have to be officially translated to Czech Language. We will confirm if the apostille is necessary.
