How many days can I be outside the Czech Republic during the 5 years?
To qualify for permanent residence, your stay must be continuous. Your absences cannot exceed 6 consecutive months at one time, and your total time spent outside the Czech Republic cannot exceed 10 months combined across the entire 5-year period.
(Note: Absences for maternity leave, posted work, or serious medical reasons have legal exceptions).
How much monthly income do I need to show for Czech permanent residence?
You must prove a regular, stable net monthly income that covers both the Czech statutory subsistence minimum (životní minimum) and your verified monthly living/housing costs.
Unlike a student visa or certain long-term visas—where a bank statement showing lump-sum savings is accepted—permanent residence strictly requires recurring, documented monthly income (such as employment salary, trade license OSVČ profits, or executive dividends). Bank account savings alone are not accepted by the immigration office.
Can I travel while my application is pending?

Does permanent residence expire?
